React is a prequel short in the Reclaim series from new author, J.A.Scorch. The basic plot is: a team of Marines is sent on a top-secret mission to investigate a distress signal from a science vessel in the outer limits of the solar system. All hell breaks loose when they find themselves confronting aliens. Scorch does a fair job building tension and the level of panic that sets in amongst the Marines when they are confronted by the unexpected and something they didn't train for. Being a short story, don't expect in depth characterisation, but what the characters lack in depth, is more than made up for in likeability - the first couple of chapters where the reader is introduced to the marines is good, with great dialogue and banter. Looking forward to reading the first book in the series which comes out today (30/1/2017). :)Product details

React, the prequel to the 3 book series kept me on the edge.
And then it was the end. Much too short, but being a short book as prequel, it had to end where it ended.
And now, yes, i have to go on, get the first book in the series.

REACT is a military Sci-Fi Space Opera Prequel to The Reclaim Trilogy. It begins with Sergeant William Pérez and a squad of Mars Armed Forces on a rescue mission to a Martian science vessel. Of course, the mission does not go as planned and the Marines find themselves fighting alien intruders onboard the vessel. Earth is about to be invaded by aliens who don’t seem to care if humans survive on not. The plot is standard MSF Space Opera with good action scenes. The writing and dialogue are well written. The story is a Prequel to RECLAIM Book 1 of the Reclaim Series, which has excellent reviews. I give this Sci-Fi story Four Stars and look forward to reading the first book in the series.
